Army 38, Tulsa 35
The Black Knights had a lead and lost it, Stars and Stripes noted, before special teams bailed them out. Tim Kloska blocked a Tulsa punt and recovered it, and Army turned that field position into the drive Hellums capped from a yard out. Hellums carried 30 times for 121 yards and scored three times. Godspower Nwawuihe added 135 yards on just 12 carries, including a 66-yard touchdown run.
Jones had already connected from 51 yards, the longest kick of his career, before his 50-yarder ended it. Tulsa’s Baylor Hayes was 23 of 34 for 262 yards and two scores, and Jimmy Calloway ran for 88 yards and a touchdown. Army is now 5-2 and 4-1 in the American; Tulsa fell to 4-4 and 1-3.
Duke 19, Virginia 16
This was a low-scoring game that tilted late. Virginia led 13-10 after three quarters, according to the linescore on the CBS Sports gametracker, and Duke scored nine fourth-quarter points to Virginia’s three. Sheppard did damage both ways: he ran for a 32-yard touchdown, finished with 55 rushing yards on 15 carries and threw the 28-yarder to Keefe. Patrick Smith-Young then picked off a Virginia pass with 43 seconds to go, NCFootballNews reported.
Walker Eget went 14 of 25 for 211 yards with one interception for Duke. Virginia’s Jekail Middlebrook ran 24 times for 117 yards and a score, and Beau Pribula completed 15 of 24 passes for 158 yards with an interception. Duke moved to 5-2 (2-2 ACC); Virginia is 4-4 (2-3).
Stanford 31, NC State 28
Warren completed 22 of 37 passes for 303 yards and four touchdowns, a career best, AP reported. Nico Brown caught two of them, and Caden High had nine catches for 103 yards and one score. Micah Ford gave the Cardinal balance with 150 rushing yards on 22 carries.
NC State pushed back late, Field Level Media wrote, but came up three points short. CJ Bailey threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns, and Will Wilson ran for two more. The crowd at Stanford Stadium was 13,949. Stanford is 4-4 (2-3 ACC), and NC State dropped to 3-4 (1-3).
